Emerging markets are failing to boost their currencies and recover from the US induced pressure and that is the reason behind today’s bad performance of the Asian segment of the market. Europe is also not feeling confident amidst Brexit uncertainty.
Shanghai Composite lost 1 percent.
Kospi advanced 0.9 percent.
S&P 500 futures lost 0.2 percent.
Hang Seng lost 1.6 percent.
Stoxx Europe 600 lost 0.2 percent.
MSCI All-Country World is down 0.2 percent.
MSCI Emerging Market declined 1.2 percent.
Currencies are looking in different directions with major peers looked down or being unchanged after the weekend.
Dollar rose less than 0.05 percent against the basket of six major currencies.
Euro is flat at $1.1625 point.
Lira declined 1.5 percent - $6.2661.
Yen gained 0.1 percent – 111.99.
Commodities markets is marked by gaining crude, even though the supply numbers are still unknown to us with US being submerged into the Florence hurricane situation.
WTI gained 0.3 percent - $69.20.
Brent adds 0.24 percent - $78.28.
Natural gas is up 0.43 percent - $2.78 for MMBtu.
Heating oil is up 0.34 percent - $221.67 per gallon.
Gold decreased 0.03 percent - $1200.70 per ounce.
Silver lost 0.05 percent – 414.14 per ounce.
Ounce of platinum lost 0.03 percent - $795.58.
