With US Treasury yields only rising higher and higher we couldn’t help but hope that the growth would stop in order to allow Asian and European stocks to rise, but alas this wasn’t the case as the performance of the stocks around the globe in the end of the week is just the same as in the middle of it – mixed.
Kospi gained 0.4 percent.
Topix declined 0.7 percent.
Hang Seng gained 0.6 percent.
S&P 500 futures gained 0.3 percent.
Shanghai Composite rose 1.8 percent.
Nikkei Stock Average 225 lost 0.65 percent.
Stoxx Euro 600 lost 0.4 percent.
MSCI All-country World lost 0.2 percent.
MSCI Emerging Market rose 0.1 percent.
Nothing special is going on in the equities market with dollar having a slight gain before the markets close for the weekend and euro is in the green zone as well.
Dollar declined 0.1 percent against the basket of 6 major currencies.
Euro rose 0.1 percent - $1.1466.
What is really astounding today is performance of oil that managed to climb higher even though yesterday there were no signs for today’s growth.
WTI oil gained 0.84 percent - $69.23.
Brent recovered 1.15 percent of per-barrel price - $80.20.
Natural gas fell 0.94 percent - $3.17 per MMBtu.
Heating oil increased 0.9 percent - $231.55 per gallon.
Gold is up by 0.09 percent - $1231.2 per ounce.
Silver is up by 0.42 percent - $276.4.
Platinum rose 0.43 percent - $831.39.
