Selloff in Asian segment of the market has not reflected in the European markets as we see two completely different performances in the two regions. Asia has dropped much more than Europe has gained, so we are waiting for the consequence of the losses.
Kospi dropped 0.6 percent.
Hang Seng advanced 0.3 percent.
S&P 500 futures grew 0.6 percent.
Shanghai Composite gained 1.2 percent.
Topix lost 2 percent.
Nikkei Stock Average 225 lost 2 percent.
Stoxx Europe 600 added 0.5 percent.
MSCI All-Country world lost 0.1 percent.
MSCI Emerging Market grew 0.1 percent.
Even though the greenback reached the highest level in 18 months yesterday, the currency couldn’t hold onto the gains today as the greenback drops prices against major peers.
Dollar lost less than 0.05 percent against the basket of six major peers.
Euro grew 0.1 percent - $1.1229.
Pound gained 0.2 percent - $1.287.
Oil is a real disappointment for traders today as we see losses beyond important points for both of the major crudes.
WTI oil declined 1.55 percent - $59 per barrel.
Brent decreased 1.3 percent - $69.21 per barrel.
Natural gas added 4.38 percent - $3.95 per MMBtu.
Heating oil lost 0.95 percent - $213.52 per gallon.
Gold dropped 0.17 percent - $1201.5.
Silver grew 0.03 percent - $14.02.
Platinum adds 0.73 percent - $846.37 per ounce.
