Books. Although our interest to them might be long gone it doesn’t mean that we can’t still have a lot of use out of them. And books about trading are particularly interesting as they can provide us with both – an interesting set of knowledge and horrifically interesting plot. That is why we decided to plunge into the world of the best books for traders.
1. HOW TO MAKE MONEY IN STOCKS by William O’Neil.
S classic for stock investors. Author describes his days in the CANSLIM system as well as given tons of important and interesting tips on the possibilities and strategies of stock investments. It is both – a guide for the new investors and a must-have book for those with experience.
2. BUFFETT: THE MAKING OF AN AMERICAN CAPITALIST by Roger Lowenstein
Warren Buffett is an incredible pro of the business and trading world. That is why his insights on the situation are very informative and educational. Author also submerges us into the means and the world of Oracle of Omaha. Those, having read this book with time are going to have a full understanding of Buffett’s vision.
3. REMINISCENCES OF A STOCK OPERATOR by Edwin Lefèvre.
A little bit of educational fiction – our personal favorite. An educational story of a young man who with market speculations was trying to reach his goal. A book is filled with excitement, education and thoughts which are going to stick with young traders for the rest of their trading lives. Look no further for your next book.
4. MARKET WIZARDS by Jack Schwager.
One of the golden eras of trading – 70s and 80s. That is what we can truly paint in our minds upon reading this book. It is collection of the interviews, conducted with the most successful trades of the time. There is no doubt that their experience and insight are going to give every reader a lot of perspective and are going to tell about the painful trading lessons we might be able to avoid.
5. A RANDOM WALK DOWN WALL STREET by Burton Malkiel.
Those who are only beginning their way and only start their portfolio absolutely must read this one. A great lesson on trends, financial bubbles, diversification and trading as a whole – it is all in there. All of the core principals of the business – all inside one book.
6. LIAR’S POKER by Michael Lewis.
Perhaps not the most educational book of all, but if you are interested to know how Wall Street operates, then this is a book for you. Insider will tell you about the principals and mechanisms of one of the most important and large stock exchange in the world.
7. COMMON STOCKS AND UNCOMMON PROFITS by Philip Fisher.
A book by Warren Buffett’s mentor himself – that has got to account for at least something. Fisher is telling an interesting mechanism of inspecting the company and thus not having to fail with the bad stock.
Books about trading might not be the most obvious source of knowledge, but it is certainly still credible.
