Becoming a pro trader is not an easy task. It requires a lot of work and a lot of hardship. That being said, it is so worth it, as the earnings of the pro-traders are much bigger and much more sensible than those of an amateur.
So, how does one become a pro trader?
1. Develop a strategy.
That’s right. Do not buy or download it, develop it. After a certain point in your trading you are going to be able to develop your own strategy. And as soon as you are feeling yourself capable of that, do not hesitate to do so. Only you can know and predict your needs, only you can develop a truly effective strategy that is going to bring you profit. That is why it is better to develop something of your own – more effective, you know?
2. Do not stay with your demo account for too long.
Look, I am all pro-demo accounts, after all they are what help you learn and develop your skills, but to stay with it for too long means that you are not going to develop the sense of the risk you are taking while trading. After all, you real money is not at stake with the demo account. You might learn something that is going to be potentially harmful for you in the future.
Trade with demo, but do not overstay your welcome with it. After all that is your knowledge and that is a potential damage to your future trading career. Pros prefer to get their experience in the field.
3. Point-by-pint.
After the previous steps are concluded you are ready to go to the next several sub-steps which can be described point-by-point:
- Keep your emotions away from your trading space.
- Never put down trades in order to compensate for your losses.
- Only trade when you feel that the right time has come.
- Always stick to your trading plan that has, just your strategy, to be developed by yourself.
- Don't be afraid and do not panic because of losses. Pros don’t even sweat them.
- Don't risk more than 3% of margin per trade.
- Learn to set stop-losses for every single trade. Never skip it or you will face losses.
The list might seem too long to achieve. And to do, but for you, just like for any other trader it is only hard to start – after a while you are going to acquire a habit of following every point.
Remember, every step you take in the direction to professional trading scene is a step to your richness and profit.
